Sticker Design: Cookies
There is something magical about taking simple ingredients and transforming them into something delicious. I love baking for others, and one of my favorite things to bake are cookies.
In 2020 I moved to be closer to my family, which has been great, but I really missed baking for my friends. So, I started to research best practices of shipping cookies. One heat sealer and many polybags later and I was in business.
I started off doing birthday cookie boxes, I would ask my friends what kind of cookie they wanted for their birthday and I would bake and ship it to them as a fun birthday “surprise”. It then escalated to also doing holiday cookie boxes so I could challenge myself and make a variety of different flavors (typically 4-6 different flavors). To be able to differentiate the cookies in the box, I design stickers that have all the flavors on them. Below is my design process for cookie stickers.
Sketch
Once I figure out what flavors I am going to do, I sketch out possible designs for the cookies stickers.
Digital Design
After sketching out possible designs, I play around in Adobe Illustrator with reference images and create illustrations for each of the cookie flavors.
Print, stick and ship!
I then format and finalize each of the cookie sticker designs and upload them to get printed. Once the cookies are baked and heat sealed, the stickers are added and placed into boxes to be shipped.
